It seems that being a mommy to two has kept me from my dear blog. I'm not sure why- maybe it's due to being constantly on the go. The only thing I can figure is that bloggers who are also parents to young children must not value their sleep as much as I do. Because I can promise you that once my kids are asleep, I'm asleep. There will be no blogging after bedtime for this mommy.
But such is life. Maybe one day I'll find my way back to this space on a more regular basis. Until then, I will try my best to document the big stuff! (You know, for the two readers I may have left.)
Such as the little lady's first month with us...
Folks, it's been a rough one. And not in the usual ways. As far as babies go, this one is a dream. She only cries when she's hungry. Seriously. If her tummy is full, she's happy. She is nursing like a champ. This is a really big deal here, because feeding was a constant struggle with Gabe. I can see now why those moms talk about how easy and great breastfeeding can be, because with her, it's easy and great! At night, she usually only wakes me up once. That's right- once. And since both of my kids rock at sleeping, I can usually catch one more hour of sleep after her morning feeding, leaving me feeling pretty well rested.
But then the sickness hit us...
J started it, then Gabe got it, then me. We prayed that it wouldn't find its way to our littlest, but alas, it caught her. RSV.
Just an annoying cold-like virus to most of us, but to a newbie, it's pretty serious. In the past two weeks, we've been to the pediatrician four times and to the emergency room once. Breathing was not coming easily to our little girl. Scary stuff. Luckily, we seem to be over the worst of it now, and she is on the mend!
Miss Margot has been such a joyous addition to our little family. She is beautiful and wonderful and snuggly and sweet and I just want to stare at her all day long. I so look forward to watching this little one grow (but not too quickly!). Truly loving life as a family of four!
